Stephen updated
a hand-me-down dresser with two coats of chalk-
board paint. Still, the wall above looked a little bare.
“I wanted something over the dresser to make the
room feel larger,” Stephen says. A quick stop to a
discount store yielded a framed mirror at a great sale
price. The mirror’s thick frame, covered with two
coats of chalkboard paint, make it perfect for writing
little reminders. Stephen leaned it against the wall
rather than mounting it above the dresser to make
the two pieces seem like one. Prime with magnetic
paint first if you want to attach permission slips,
tickets, or other loose paper,
